Research on Educational Effectiveness: Critical Outcomes and Pragmatic Decisions

Dates: Sunday March 2nd – Tuesday March 4th, 2008

Building on the success of the inaugural invitational conference held in December of 2006, the first annual conference of the Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness (SREE) will be held on March 2nd – 4th, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency in Crystal City, Virginia. Progressing beyond the invited papers format, this conference will broaden participation by offering:

• Symposia
• Paper sessions
• Poster sessions
• Training opportunities

Consistent with SREE’s mission, the 2008 conference theme is focused on the connection between the practical need to make educational decisions about how best to educate students and the technical features of educational research that produces trustworthy knowledge about cause-and-effect relations for a range of critical outcomes. The conference will bring together a community of individuals interested in the application of scientific research methods to pressing education issues, problems, and questions.
